Siciliano - What I meant was when you're kneeling with both knees on the floor.



Some people like to be on their balls of feet and some like to keep their insteps on the ground when in the top guard. I prefer my insteps on the ground and I use balls of feet when I am in the cross body position.

i picked up the ankles crossed from Kenny Florian, before the TUF days... It's good when you do a butterfly stretch w/ your knees.... this forces their face away....

i vary. i'll usually not do it if i need to SMASH their head away.

He is talking about going for the arm bar when you cross your feet. You spread your legs like a butterfly stretch and your knee closes to the head pushes your opponent's face down and keeps the back of head to the ground.
