It was pretty crazy. We didn't have power for about 3 week. The heat was unbearable. I was still in school and we missed over a month of class. The storm brought these bugs with it we call them love bugs but anyways it was literally equal to a plague of them. They covered everything it was unreal. It was a crazy time.

Katrina was my first hurricane ever. Living over 100 miles inland I initially treated it as a chance to have party then trees started falling everywhere.
My losses in comparison to those closer to coast was minor but the whole thing was eye opening to the strength of Mother Nature
