Who is Shaolin going to face next now that Uno drew with Kawajiri? Will they rematch to decide who Shaolin fights for the title? Also, is Gomi considered for a title match maybe with Shaolin?
"I think Kawajiri is next."
That's cool. I think he has a better claim for a title shot than Uno. Any word on Gomi fighting?
Gomi's a Pride fighter now.
Gomi probly won't be back.
Watch out for Kenichiro Togashi btw!
"Gomi's a Pride fighter now."
I knew he was in Bushido but wasnt sure if he was done with Shooto. Does that mean Mishima is done with Shooto too? I figure he is since he hasnt fought in a long time there. Shame because he and Gomi were some of Shooto's finest.
Mishima and Gomi are probably done with Shooto.
I am pretty Sure Mishima is done, but Gomi does have an open contract allowing him to still fight in Shooto (though he figuratively be done with Shooto).
Mishima said in an interview he would like to come back to Shooto.
Kawajiri vs. Uno was a close fight up until the very end when Kawajiri started to dismantle Uno in both physical and technical fashion.
Kawajiri has shown much progress and great determination in his last few showings. Kawajiri has definitely earned the right to fight Shaolin, again.
I thought Uno was ahead until the last minute and 30 seconds of the fight.
Shaolin will be facing Mitsuhiro Ishida in July at Hawaii. The fight isn't for the title. Ishida is Kawajiri's training partner so I guess shooto is trying to build up something.
Another rumour is that Joachim Hansen will be fighting in July at Tokyo. Possible opponents include Uno and Kawajiri.
I'm guessing that Kawajiri will be fighting for the title next and the winner of Uno/Hansen getting the next shot. Either way, the possible matchups are very interesting.

Yeah, I'd like to see Hansen do battle with Uno. I don't think people give Hansen enough credit. I think his strikes might be enough to beat Uno, but you never know. Uno is very talented fighter.
I think Hansen's lack of wrestling will hurt him against someone like Uno or Kawajiri
Rich, isn't Mishima's Cobra Kai an official SHOOTO gym, though? What happens when the gym leader leaves SHOOTO? Is the gym no longer an official Japan SHOOTO Association official club? Also, was this year's All Japan Combat Wrestling tournament cancelled? I remember it happening usually in March or April but I can find no results this year.
Cobra Kai isn't an official Shooto gym. Most of them are in Shooto, but Daisuke Hanazawa 13 and Satoshi Watanabe are Cobra Kai fighters who fight in Pancrase. To my knowledge, if a fighter trains at an official Shooto gym, he cannot fight in Pancrase...
Good question about Combat Wrestling. I'm curious, too.
Ryan is correct... Cobra Kai is not a Shooto Gym. And being a part of the Shooto Association isn't dependant upon your lead fighters fighting in only Shooto... Gomi has moved into other venues, but the Kikuchi Dojo is still a Shooto gym.
Pancrase is Off-limits to all Shooto licensed fighters (not just Shooto gyms). That is why Takeuchi and Wada turned in their Shooto licenses when they signed to fight in Pancrase... But Pancrase is the only venue that is off-limits...

So everything under and including AACC is not an official gym but free gyms that have fighters licensed with them?
I am not sure how the "Official Shooto team" structure works.
I don't know if they their own gyms, or if they are a team of fighters that train at a certain gym (that may or may not be a Shooto gym)???
or maybe they get some kind of other certificate or license as a "team" If I get the opportunity, I will find out what the distinction is...
