Looking a lot at the CZ SDP or Sphinx SDP Compact, which while expensive would still be a lot cheaper than a Wilson or Nighthawk. 
Why not a high-capacity 1911?
Check out the canik line of CZ clones (c100, t100, etc. for compacts). Or the Sarmilaz line (B6 can be had for under 300 bucks).

TFK_Mas Tisu -I own one of these. Sights were off when it arrived. Windage was easy to fix but it still shoots low. Trigger is horrendous. Functions flawlessly though. 500 through it with no malfunctions.

I was looking at CZ's until I realized how shitty the machining and finish is - good luck with a clone.
Not that I'm rich but I don't mind paying around $1500 or so. Hell, until this week, I was pretty sure I was gong to get a Wilson Combat Sentinel.

Never_rolled - I would say neither is a good choice for CC unless this is OC. Personally I would never carry 1911. Heavy and capacity is terrible for this size and weight. In classes it has been shown over and over 1911's are the most problematic. I prefer a modern polymer. I have no experience with a CZ so I can't comment to that. I do own a 1911 an STI but it's just a range gun.

I absolutely love my kimber ultra 2. But it's so heavy I always end up carrying my Kahr pm45 if I'm going to be carrying for hours.
Almost every person in my family owns a 1911 and from what Ive seen they're not that reliable. Really nice looking pistol though.
1911's are a pain in the dickhole to clean when compared to other like Glock, Sig, HK, etc

Ok, then why those two guns? Would you really want a 9mm 1911? In my opinion, that's like having a Mustang with a 4 banger. I have two 9mms, so don't get me wrong about 9s. I just feel like a 1911 is supposed to be a .45.
