2007 NAGA Arnold's

2007 Arnold GRAPPLING CLASSIC
The North American Grappling Association (NAGA) has been asked to help coordinate the 2007 Arnold Grappling Classic, a submission grappling tournament in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, March 3rd, and Sunday, March 4th, 2007. The Arnold is a weekend long event that features multiple fitness and athletic events ranging from grappling and other martial arts, to bodybuilding, arm wrestling, cheerleading, weightlifting and more. The submission grappling will take place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center as will the other Arnold Expo martial art events. The event welcomes both individuals and teams to compete and is nationally RANKED.

IMPROVEMENTS FOR 2007
NAGA always listens to its competitors and fans, not only about what is being done right, but also where improvements can be made. Through the feedback we have received, we have implemented the following changes and improvements for the Arnold Grappling Classic:

MORE DIVISIONS
* MORE MENS DIVISIONS – Starting with the new Bantam Weight (129.9 & under) division and going up every 10 lbs.
* MORE MASTERS DIVISIONS – Adults 30 to 39 years old will also have 10 weight classes.
* MORE WOMENS DIVISIONS – More women weight classes; starting with the new Flyweight (119.9 lbs & under).
* MORE CHILDREN DIVISIONS – Boys & Girls will have their own separate divisions.
* MORE TEEN DIVISIONS – Boys & Girls Teens will have their own separate divisions (Beginner through Advanced)!

MORE RINGS
There will be up to 16 rings running concurrently throughout the entire event. NAGA has brand new Swain Dollamur mats that will be rolled out for this event.

WEIGH-INS and REGISTRATION
The Arnold Grappling Classic requires weigh-ins and competition registration to take place on Friday, March 2, the day before the tournament. Weigh-ins and registration will start at 10 a.m. and continue through till 10 p.m. No competitor registrations will be allowed after 10 p.m. on Friday. The Friday weigh-in is the only time you will have to weigh-in, it is good for both Saturday's and Sunday's divisions. You do not need to weigh-in with your gi on for gi divisions. Please have a photo ID on hand when weighing in and when competing.

DIVISIONS ALREADY BRACKETED
With weigh-ins and registration occurring on Friday, this allows divisions to already be bracketed for both Saturday and Sunday. This in turn contributes to the efficiency of the tournament by allowing rings to run non-stop.

This year's Arnold Grappling Classic will be nationally Ranked! Ranked is a submission grappling rating system where points are earned and accumulated towards a national grappling title. More details can be found at nationallyranked.com.

NO-GI and GI RULES
The Arnold Grappling Classic No-Gi divisions will follow NAGA submission grappling rules. The Gi divisions will follow rules set by the Confederation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CBJJ). Please make sure to attend the rules meetings at 8:30 a.m. before the start of each day's divisions. More details can be found at the NAGA website: nagafighter.com.

MENS EXPERT NO-GI ABSOLUTE DIVISION
On Sunday there will be an absolute (open weight class) division for expert, men grapplers. The winner of the Absolute division will receive a championship belt. The Arnold Grappling Classic draws many of the greatest grapplers in the world, come test yourself against the best.
