Rickson disputed this loss, claiming he was misinformed of the rules of the event.(props cavar)

Makes me hug Anderson's nuts a lil tighter.

excellent post...

I live my life by this code:

"No flying ass drops."

Great ost Seamus,

So Rickson did lose a fight, but invented an excuse....  400....AND ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"7. Travis Fulton has an MMA record of 185-45-9 and of those fights only 20 went to decision, his nickname of "Ironman" is fitting."

Anyone else with 45 losses would look pretty bad... but the dude also has 185 wins. And he did most of thsoe fights before the age of 25. How could he never get injured is beyond me.

"3. In the pre-fight staredown between Josh Barnett and Mark Hunt, while the referee was issuing the rules, Barnett added, "No flying ass drops."

Haha. I didnt know that they even fought!

And the right term is "Atomic Butt Drop" coined by Randy himself.

Great post.

Both straight and gay right?

Including a guy who he beat likes six times in MMA and 3 in boxing (all by KO) and a cousin he finished half a dozen times or so.

Good stuff. I was surprised that you actually found some stuff I didn't know. Well done ('cause I a MMA geek believe dat).

Had no idea Tanner had more traingle victories than anyone.

To add a bit: Johil De Olivera I believe was Serra's opponent burnt by pyrotechnics (he carried a fire extinguisher to the ring in his next bout -lol).

Sakuraba armbarred Conan Silviera to win Ultimate Japan, after 'losing' (later changed to No Contest) to Conan in the first round when he dropped down for a single-leg BJM jumped in and stopped the fight. Saku protested to no avail but when Conan's opponent in the final pulled out injured they let Saku fight. A star was born.

What I can't remember is who was supposed to be the opponent. Did Tank and Trauma both pull out due to injury?

Thankfully for Nogi there are time limits otherwise he'd probably be dead imo (Enson Inoue as well).

one of the best posts ever

"Haha. I didnt know that they even fought!"

That one is still on dailymotion. It goes just how you would expect it to.

I knew all these.

Just kidding, great post.

On fact I heard (and I think is true) is that Jason Delucia, not Royce or Shammy was the first to submit someone in the UFC (having fought in an untellivised prelim).

I could be mistaken but I do think this is true.

That's awesome. Even if you're an MMA expert, I bet there are a few tidbits in there you might find surprising.
I figured that Tanner was always the "chicken wing" finisher. No clue he actually had the most triangle wins.
The Barnett/Hunt thing I never knew either. I remember them laughing, but I had no clue what was actually said.

"Both straight and gay right?"

Straight. Met his current wife in the business btw :)

" 24. UFC Light Heavyweight contender Forrest Griffin's very first MMA bout was against Dan "The Beast" Severn."

First PRO fight.  For a few hundred dollars.  Forrest weighed under 220lbs, Severn was nearly 260lbs.  Forrest has fought his first amateur fight only 6 months earlier.

great post

anyone know what the exact number of triangle wins that tanner has is?
