This system (Gracie Combatives) lists 34 techniques that they claim are the most useful for self defense. I've been a white belt for 1 year 7 months and counting! I don't suck but I feel like I've still got along way to go before I even think about getting my blue belt.
Just for fun I've looked online to see if I could find out what these 34 moves are. I haven't found them yet. I probably already know most of these techniques. But does anyone here know what they might be? Thanks

That seems a little long to be a white belt. How often do you train?

I go to an MMA gym in Huntington Beach so I train mostly no Gi. Although I?ve been training with a Gi for a few months.
I go at least 3 times a week minimum at about 2 hours per session.
"That seems a little long to be a white belt"
Is that a joke?
^^^no joke. i was a white belt for 7 months, training 3x/wk.

I don't doubt it. You're the exception, though. Most people take a lot longer.
What are these 34 techniques?
can someone bump the old threads on this?

If you train regulary with a black belt, or are at a school under a black belt, then perhaps 1.7 years is long to be a white belt, especially with a set white to blue curriculum to follow. For me, my school has only recently come under a black belt and, we aren't training anyones blue belt curruculum yet, so in our school, it makes sense that we have lot's of white belts.
