Round One
The fourth fight of the night begins with Herb Dean starting off the action. Both fighters touch gloves in the center of the Octagon. Franca comes in with a wild overhand right. Franca throws two head kicks in a row that miss. Franca jumps back in and Yves backs away. Franca shoots in and takes Yves down immediately. Yves attempts to sweep Franca, but Franca defends well. Yves stands back up and escapes, but Franca pulls guard. Franca working for a leglock and Yves defending with punches to Franca's face.
Three minutes left in the first round and Yves escapes and stands back up. Both fighters circling one another with Franca being the aggressor and Yves moving around more. Yves throws jab that misses but lands a huge thai kick to Franca's leg. Franca shoots in and misses, with Yves jumping back to defend the takedown. Yves lands another leg kick. Two minutes left in the first round and Yves lands a nice straight left and Yves jumps back. Franca moving forward and Yves lands another leg kick. Franca lands a leg kick of his own. Franca attempts a huge head kick that barely misses. Franca falls down but stands back up. Franca lands a nice highkick. Franca moves in and lands his patented wild right hand and follows it up with a clinch and takedown.
Forty seconds left with Franca holding Yves against the fence. Yves stands back up and escapes, but Franca lands a nice right and left hand combo as Yves stands back up. Franca shoots in with a single leg, Yves defends, and Franca pulls guard. Yves in Franca's open guard as the round ends.
