A martial arts instructor in Aurora has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with several teenage students, police said.
Raul Alberto Gutierrez-Hernandez, 31, of Aurora, is suspected of sex assault on a child by a person in position of trust and sex assault on a child, both felonies, according to an Aurora Police Department media release.
Gutierrez-Hernandez is suspected of having sexual contact with "several teenage girls who were students at a martial arts studio he operated in Aurora," police said.
Gutierrez-Hernandez owns Tae Kwon Do Tegura, 601 N. Salida St., where he is an instructor. The school was previously located at 638 Peoria St., Aurora.
He was arrested on Wednesday, posted a $50,000 bond and was released.
Anyone with information on the case, or the suspect, is asked to call Det. Christine Hurley at 303 739-6113.

Him being charged means they weren't 17 years old. Also, being an instructor makes the charge more serious. "Position of trust".
Sad thing is these girls' parents probably took them there so they could defend themselves against people like this douchebag.
So the state concedes that a 17 year old is fully aware of their actions and can consent to sex, yet then turns around and says a 17 year old who holds someone in a position of trust is somehow lacking the same mental faculties as those who don't. The law makles sense. Do you want teachers, counslers, instructors etc to be able lead these girls into a sexual relationship??? If you are in these positions you should not be trying to bed these girls. Go find yourself an 18 yr old waitress at a Hooters.
