Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis

With a win over Dennis Siver, Donald Cerrone is now in the hunt for a lightweight title shot.

Fighters like Clay Guida and Ben Henderson are closer to the front of the line for that bout with champion Frankie Edgar, but a matchup between Cerrone and Anthony Pettis could put the winner within one victory of a championship fight.

Hatsu Hioki vs. Bart Palaszewski

Highly-ranked featherweight Hatsu Hioki was unimpressive in his UFC debut, though the Japanese fighter was able to walk away from UFC 137 with a split decision-victory over George Roop.

Cheick Kongo vs. Roy Nelson

Both winners of pivotal matchups at UFC 137, Cheick Kongo and Roy Nelson are looking to make one final run at a heavyweight title shot. Both fighters are in their mid-30s but have remained competitive against the best in the division.

B.J. Penn vs. Gray Maynard

Nick Diaz vs. Georges St. Pierre

I could see these happening Phone Post

Cerrone vs Pettis makes sense but with the WEC still being relatively new in the transition into the UFC I could see them opting to keep making match ups that pit former WEC fighters vs UFC fighters in the lightweight division.

MMA journalists aren't the brightest crop. Pettis vs. Lauzon is nearly confirmed. Cerrone can fight either the winner of that or another guy.

i agree with all of these Phone Post

Man, BJ vs Maynard would be AWESOME!

Cerrone vs Jim Miller pls

Dr Gonzo - Cerrone vs Jim Miller pls

Jim Miller's coming off a loss. They're more likely to make Jim Miller vs Siver or Guillard. Cowboy will either get Lauzon or Pettis. Phone Post

He's coming off a loss to a guy ranked higher than Cerrone, I'd like to see Cerrone against someone who will do something other than kickbox, Lauzon would be good though.

Sherdog has been doing "Five matches to make" after major events for a long time.

Does Bleacher Report lack the ability to at least invent a proper spin-off name for what is an idea they stole from another site.

Pettis vs. Lauzon

It could turn into a fight scene taken from Dragon Ball Z. Atomic particules poppin in and out of existence as they colide bone and flesh against eachother, after the first round the cage looking like a bull herd ran through it, somehow they're bleeding from each corner of their eyes and mouth and still going full blast at eachother...!

EDIT:

Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz targeted for UFC 141

Cerrone vs Guillard would be a fun fight

How about

BJ v Lytle

AJ v Diaz

Cerrone v Nate Diaz

Mitrione v Herman

Kongo v Kharatonov

Not to mention that bj retired in the ring also Phone Post

Mitrione Herman sounds awesome, same with Diaz/cowboy
Kongo and Roy would probably end fast but be great!

why is every1 forgetting big nog....the man has beaten a better opponent in schaub than meathead/kongo....and is still in the top 10 in the division....give him kongo or nelson!!!
i would like to see the cowboy vs. an strong wrestler...

big nog vs. kongo
cerrone vs. maynard
bj vs. Bahadurzada(if he really has signed and is getting a visa)
mitrione vs. browne

I actually like the big nog vs Kongo fight, Kongos been looking better and better as of late, time to see how he does against top class comp.

Big nog is fighting at 140 against Mir Phone Post
