Extreme makeover: Wu Lei’s ‘blockhead’ haircut failed to get him a girlfriend (Picture: CEN)

Some guys buy a motorbike to help get over a midlife crisis, but this man decided to go for an extreme haircut instead.

Wu Lei, 54, has been dubbed ‘Blockhead’ in his native Taiwan after getting a bizarre Lego-style hair-do to impress a 23-year-old woman.

However his makeover plan didn’t quite work after the woman rejected his advances.

‘My friends call him Blockhead,’ the woman explained.

‘I can imagine he might have found someone as he had a good and respectable job as a medical laboratory scientist at the National Taiwan University Hospital. But he should act his age.’

Lei, who spends two hours doing his hair using two tubs of gel, says he cannot understand why he is still single.

‘I can’t understand it. I make an attractive monthly income of 70,000 Taiwanese dollars (£1,400),’ he said.

‘I adopted this hairstyle because I wanted to look like a guy in his 20s or 30s to attract the girl who rejected me. Or in fact any girl.’

He may not have found love, but Lei has become a minor celebrity in his hometown since his makeover.

Great conversation piece.

"So...an anvil fell on my head, can you believe that?"

looks like a reallife minecraft character haha

He can save himself 2 hours a day and 2 tubes of gel by buzzing that shit off right now exactly as it is and wear it as a wig the rest of his life.

In 1985 this haircut would not have made so much as a blip on any news source.
