The winners of the JDS/Overeem and Arlovski/Miocic both have a case for getting the title shot against the winner of Werdum/Velasquez. JDS won't be getting a shot if him and Velasquez win but all other options are on the table.
With the MMA world completely obsessed with Ronda and Conor, it is good to know that we still have a few good heavyweight fights going down to look forward to.
The winner of Gonzaga vs Erokhin won't be earning a title shot anytime soon but this is a fun fight between two dudes with a lot of power. It will be entertaining for as long as it can last. Gonazaga by sub or Erokhin by KO is my call.
Arlovski has a good shot to beat either Werdum or Cain. I won't call him the favorite against either one but he is not much more than a 2-1 dog against either one IMO.

I think people would not have a huge problem with Werdum vs Cain again but Werdum vs Cain 1 took almost two years to happen and their rematch is going to be 9 or 10 months after their first fight.
Two heavyweight title fights in 3 years is not good business for the division. Injuries are part of the sport but it is not a pretty part of the sport.
I doubt UFC was happy that Werdum wanted a long break after their fight given how long Cain was out before their fight.
I hope they refocus on building heavyweight stars in the future.
Even though Ronda and Conor have become huge stars, heavyweight is still a special division because it showcases the best fighter on the planet, not the best fighter within a ten pound range but the best fighter on the planet and the general public understands this.
That is part of what makes people know the name Sullivan, Johnson, Dempsey, Marciano, Tyson, Fedor, Karelin, Hoost etc...
disbeliever - The only one of those fighters I am seriously pulling for is Arlovski. I want to see him win a title one more time.This except I want Werdum to destroy Cain and Arlovski to decision Werdum and win the title one last time.

Well that was a bit of a prediction fail on my part.
Both guys were so cautious of the others power that they delivered a boring fight.
Who would have been able to predict that fight would be a boring decision and Frankie would end Mendes in the first via KO? Only Conor could predict tings like dat.
Well on to JDS Overeem. Lets hope it delivers.
Anyone think Cain will be able to beat Werdum? I just can't see him winning standing or on the ground.
Also I'd love to see AA win the belt again.
LiquidCobra - I think Miocic is the future champ.Vu. Arlovski is a bad dude but Stipe will handle him rather easily IMO. Miocic will be champ in 2016
I like Werdum, Barnett, Arvloski, and Mitrione. I hope AA and Mitrione win and they fight each other and the winner of that faces the winner of Werdum vs Barnett and I hope Barnett/Werdum fight soon and that it takes place on the ground good part of the fight.
I'm willing to bet Overeem/JDS will be exciting but after Gonzaga/Erokhin turned into a nightmare, I'm reminded ya never know.
Still can't believe Gonzaga/Erokhin sucked.
