A question for Plumbers.

If a house with pipes in the slab develops a leak; could the pipe be rerouted above ground and into the house instead of fixing the old pipes?

Unless you’re dying to replace all of the flooring in your house, I rerouting your existing plumbing

That is what I want to avoid in the future. House I put a bid on was built in the 50's, pipes in the slab and I wouldn't want  to open up the floors to fix a leak from pipes that are 70+ years old. I'd feel better rerouting.
