I just poured myself a drink and would like to make a toast to DSE.
I remember when Pride first appeared with their watered down rules, works, and a plethora of cans fighting UFC washouts.
Then DSE bought Pride and seriously cleaned it up. The works disappeared, the rules eventually drifted closer to vale tudo again, and they brought in phenomenal international talent.
They made PPVs available in America despite getting next to nothing for buys. They paid their fighters well and provided much needed competition for the UFC.
It's true they made a lot of major mistakes which led to their downfall, but this thread isn't about that. I for one appreciate DSE's contribution to the great sport of MMA.
