FightyMcFighterFace - It's about time the UFC gave some love to the East Coast. UFC 101 so far is looking like an awesome card.
Champ B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian (for UFC lightweight title) Forrest Griffin vs. Thiago Silva Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellgrino Matt Hamill vs. Brandon Vera Melvin Guillard vs. Thiago Tavares Dan Cramer vs. Matthew Riddle Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort Kendall Grove vs. TBA
I still have a bad taste in my mouth wasting my money going to see the UFC 78 card in Newark.
Roll call East Coaster's who is going to be in Philly on August 8th?! I'll be wearing my Mets jersey...
Also who wants to get into rumble with me when I tell a Phillies fan to go fuck himself!?
This card sounds great. But the venue pick is kind of suspect. Florian should be fighting in his hometown in BOSTON, IMO. Why the UFC won't come to Boston is a question I ask myself on a daily basis, lol.
Also, I was at 78, really wasn't that bad. The J-Lau fight was very impressive, Fisher/Edgar was a great fight, and Ed Herman's KO was insane!
The Otherground - Sorry they moving the Philly card to Vegas, had a small setback but maybe they will comeback next year. Vegas deserves more shows than the east coast anyways.
I am midwest born and bred, so I have no dog in the fight, but I'm interested to find out how Mets fan talks crap to Phillies fan right now. What are you going to do, bring up '86?

I am a diehard Mets fan born and raised in Queens, NY. i currently reside in Central Jersey near Trenton. This is basically where Philly country begins.
I will tell you this. There is nothing we can say to them whatsoever.

the UFC won't come to Boston because they can't... the god damn librals won't sanction the sport... its that fucking easy you moron...

Interesting. If you know anything about MMA, you would know that a very successful promotion called WCF is in Wilmington, MA. Soo, I'm pretty sure MMA is sanctioned in Massachusetts. It's New York that isn't sanctioned yet...

is MMA even legal in MA? serious question
As to my knowledge, yes. We have WCF in Wilmington, MA. Great promotion, lots of guys have fought in the WCF and moved on to fight in the UFC and other great Promotions. I'm almost 100% sure we're sanctioned in Massachusetts. Dana was on the phone about a month ago with a well known rock station in Boston. I listened to the whole thing and Dana said he would love to get the Penn/Florian fight to Boston. So I'm pretty sure everything is all set, I'm honestly surprised they haven't been here yet...
MMA is legal but unsanctioned in Massachusetts, which means the boxing commission doesn't have the budget to oversee MMA but they won't shut shows down.

The only reason fisher/edgar was a good fight was because of how into it the fans were. Edgar basically just laid on him but the fans were so behind him it was intense.
