How was the action process? Was it quick and easy? Was it just something you filled out online and they accept you? Did they care if you had other pets/dogs that weren’t neutered? Did they do a house visit to make sure you have a nice place for a dog?
How much due it cost overall?
I’ve found that puppy mills offer a superior product.
The humane society by me in stupid restrictive. Wanted to get a little kitten(sorry older kitties) found a Beautiful little gray one. 90 dollars with shots and a chip. Filling out the paper work they wanted to come inspect my house. Fuck you. I understand some people are slobs and trash but I’m not letting a stranger in place. They also wanted to know what I think about my neighbors and 2 people to vouch for me like a fucking job application.
They ask about 10 questions ranging from income to family size, what other pets and usually you can get them the next day so they can spay/neuter get shots before you take them. I've gone to shelters the last 4 times I've gotten pets. I feel like I'm making some random animal and myself happy when I pick it out.

Its cause theres a lot of shitty people out there. Its also to help avoid people returning a dog that wasnt a good fit. Why adopt out to you when theres some family thatd love a new kitten and doesnt mind showing their home. Theyd like to know youre not a piece of shit before releasing an abandoned or abused animal into your hands.
If you want the kitten then get over the small stuff.
Don't get someone else's problem.

Yeah I pm not sure how strict this shelter I’m adopting from is…I just filled out the application form…I had to give info like previous pats, vets, references…they asked how much square footage my house was, how big my yard was…they didn’t say anything about coming to visit or inspect my house…I understand wanting the animal to get a neck home but come on…it seems many of the people that work there are volunteers so
I've adopted 3 dogs over the years, all Jack Russell terriers. Neither shelter asked for a home visit, but they do want every member of the family to come in & meet with the dog before they'll approve.
They do ask a bunch of questions about your experience with dogs, yard size/fence, home size, how long the dog would be home alone, other animals in the house, etc- all very valid questions. They're trying to find permanent homes for these animals, not just get rid of them.
Believe it or not, there are shitbags who try to adopt animals for reasons other than to be a family pet, like fighting or just to let a fighting dog tear apart.
