dude, I have trained with a handful of guys for their first fights and I tell them all the same thing. Conserve your energy and don't get caught for the first three minutes while the other guy spazzes out and then have your way with him, assuming he doesn't have stellar cardio.
I'm actually very good at remaining calm, some of my friends have described me as "an oasis of calmness."
But still, it may be harder to stay calm when I'm nervous and have adrenaline ripping through me.
I'm really looking forward to this fight.
Anyone who's not filled in on the details check the UG thread "Official UG Challenge" and "I have a dream to fight....once." (The second thread is by supercan, the first is by me.)
first is prepare hard. hit cardio big time. you caqnt implement a new move with this little time but you can get your cardio way up. second should be a proper warm up. not too early though. and third is dont blow it in the first minute. stay lose but dont let him walk through you either. there will be things you are not used to. the lights in your eyes messing with your equilibrim when your on your back in guard... the ropes getting in the way... stuff like that.
