Deaf Forever -TopGrinder - I had high hoped for him but so far in the UFC he has been a fail. Time to bring Chael in for a shot
Chael could only do color and he'd need a SERIOUS straight man like Militech to balance him out. Goldberg and Chael would be insanely shitty.
Chael as postfight interviewer imo....he'd have just walked past Kampman tonight and interviewed alves as though he never tapped and won the fight.

He's very quick on his feet, detailed yet concise, paces his commentary well and is knowledgeable. The only problem is he has awful chemistry with Kenny (who has a similar sounding voice no less) and neither guy is particularly "exciting". Rogan and Anik would be great.This is my opinion to the T

I sort of agree, but one thing Anik isn't being put up to do is all of the promo shit Goldie has to do. The chemistry is slightly off with Kenny, but I think it's just their voices. Kenny is a real good analyst and Anik doesn't interupt him and let's him do his job.
ps. I was able to ignore his small fuck ups. He shouldn't talk about the technical part of the fights at all.

You nailed it on the head. There's not enough disparency in their voices.
Him and Florian call a lot of shit wrong.
I noticed it in the last event they did as well, saying punches landed when they didn't, not sure who is bleeding when you could clearly see who it actually was etc.
Lots of little things that all add up and annoy me.
Deffo room for lots of improvement.
BrCutter -I think thats it for me, I think he is a huge fan of the sport but maybe his knowledge, of the technical parts of a fight, wasnt quite up to speed for the tv audience. Anik wobbles back and forth when he's excited, it's pretty funny, check the weigh in video at the end to see Arianny play dodge the announcer.

I was just about to type something very similar. Much prefer Anik to Goldberg and I would love to see him paired up with Rogan at some point.
Very surprised to see this thread. I watched the fights tonight with 4 different people and we all commented about what a pleasant change it was to have Anik instead of Goldberg.

Agreed. I prefer Anik to Goldie, and I prefer Rogan to Florian. But I don't watch MMA for the commentating, and I don't think we should make such a big deal about the icing on the cake. If you don't like it, mute it, it's really freaking simple. The commentary doesn't stop you from watching the fights.
^^^Of Course he has room for improvement in regards to his technical knowledge, but that's correctible. It's only his second time doing it, he'll get better.
Consider that Goldberg has been doing this for 15 years and he still makes those same kind of mistakes, I think Anik did just fine.
