People who think you can possibly just "cure cancer" are so poorly informed.

If you (royal you) had any idea of what the fuck cancer was, you'd understand why it's virtually impossible to fashion a universal cure -- certainly not without further improvements in genetic sequencing for personalized medicine and improved diagnostics.

What people tend to forget is you could technically classify cancer as a collection of virtually infinite diseases that just happen to have certain commonalities. Sure those commonalities in mechanism or symptom let us treat them superficially, but without actually knowing the disparate mutations each person's cancer constitutes (and really each person's "cancer" will contain many many many different types of cancers as it spreads and mutates), there's no way to just cure it.

I mean to be fair, we have "cured cancer".... Well, certain types. Only a few thousand to go and then rapid light year improvements in sequencing and biopsies and signalling cascades and well a whole bunch of other shit, and we'll all be cool
