Great Fight
AliStairMasterGotReemed -He fought in September. So this is like the first time Gus has fought in what 18 months?
I sure Hope Gus wins this one . Cause IF he loses, I feel he will retire!
Surely a #1 contender fight in that paper thin division. Didn't Glover duck Manuwa?

Don't know, but Alex disposed of Manua with quickness.
Gustaffson gets no breaks.
I doubt he asks for easier fights though and the thinness of LHW makes matchmaking like this compulsory.
Seems like a fairly simple fight for Glover on the ground.
Gustaffson has a bad back and will be limited in both preparation and offense on the ground, in particular off of his back.
If this plays out how it should could be a grinding ground match, Alex must use his reach and footwork to never be in clinch range, he is not capable of grappling with Glover.
Surprised this fight hasnt happened yet anyway, hard to say how it will go. Glover gets wobbled in a lot of fights and Rumble managed to turn off his lights completely not long ago, since then he has only had a not so impressive outing against Cannonier. Glover has experience fighting guys Gus's size and reach though, Pe Da Pano, Jones, Kingsbury.
Comparing their outings against common opponents in Jones, Davis, Te Huna, Rumble
Gus lost a close fight to Jones where he faded at the end, Glover basically got caught up in the losing effort of a one sided beat down
Gus got choked out by Davis, Glover got completely wrestle fucked and dry humped
Both choked out Te Huna in different ways
Both got blasted out of there by Rumble
Both guys looked average against fighters that were ranked much lower than them in their last outings. I wonder who goes for a take down first?

Seriously, Gustaffson probably has the hardest strength of schedule, (or whatever equivalent fight term is) in this sport.
Both haven't looked great recently.

The overall difficulty of his opponents in his schedule of past fights. It's sad that I even have to explain this to you.

No, it just means he works out regularly with heavy weights
Gus controls this easy.... probably shut the lights out
I used to train with Glover and I hate to say this but he is not the man he used to be, unfortunately

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you're joking.
Will it be for the lightheavywhite belt?
great fight
OMA (tm) -Gus the man too! Love Gus, but always has tough fights and usually puts on exciting fights.Gus controls this easy.... probably shut the lights out

I hope Gus can come back and put another title run together. He looked amazing against Bones but then Rumble took his soul.
Gus will outwork Glover. Glover doesn't have the offensive wrestling of Jones, DC or Davis, not does he have the speed and power of Rumble.
Gus is a very tricky fighter and gave the two best guys in the division all they could handle!
He was also doing reasonably well against Rumble until suddenly he wasn't....
Gus by UD
It is too bad that Gus has not received a rematch against Jones. That was one of the closet title fights ever. Gus should have received an immediate rematch.
