He peaked in his first fight with Jones, IMO.
Seems to be true. Hard to imagine he’ll come back and be a world beater.
His second fight vs Jones was a car crash. All that promo about him finally getting the job done this time and he totally looked like he had nothing for Jones. One sided domination. I don’t know what’s wrong with Gustafson but Jones clearly has not improved either. That performance was abysmal.
getting his head knocked off by Anthony Johnson when he was at his beastly peak, then fighting Cormier to a tough loss sure didn’t help either. funny how that same fate of peaking vs Jones seems to have followed Dominick Reyes as well. I don’t think Reyes is ever coming back to any sort of peak after getting crushed by Jan and Jiri back to back.
Yeah Gus has seemed like a complete shell of his former self. Craig was impressive in his last fight so I pick him to win
