Manhoef is a much better striker than Jones and can show Alex things he's never seen.. I don't get why everyone thinks that training with him would be detrimental.
Not every training partner has to be an exact clone of his opponent.

Are people going to start rambling about Weidman/Silva everytime that somebody picks a regining champ over an underdog contender?
We know that anything can happen in MMA, but this ain't Weidman/Silva. Weidman presented a horrible stylistic match up for Silva. Gustafsson does not for Jones, and I seriously doubt that Jones is going to clown and serve his chin up on a platter for a guy with proven KO power.
And Weidman was only a massive underdog in the eyes of idiot fans posting on message boards. There was no shortage of people who are actually in the fight game picking him to beat Anderson. Can you say the same about Gus and Jones?
Alright, seems to me Alexander is going to try to do to Jones what he did to Hamill. Stay outside of the pocket and pick him apart.
But he will focus on leg kicks, and he's training with Manhoef to improve on that, specifically for this purpose.
I'd say it's a decent strategy, because Jones will demolish him on the ground, so he's got to avoid that.
