The Teixera KO was not illegal, as the double handed clinch rule only came into effect in the 2010 season. In 2009 you could throw one knee with the double handed clinch.

Yes but to use the excuse oh hes only out striking them because they can't take him down is crap, those guys have spent their lives training... Most standup only, he trains every aspect so in theory they should be better strikers then him. Phone Post

Yes but to use the excuse oh hes only out striking them because they can't take him down is crap, those guys have spent their lives training... Most standup only, he trains every aspect so in theory they should be better strikers then him. Phone Post
I'm agreeing that his standup is very good in a standup only fight. My point was that he won't be able to fight like that for fear of being taken down by Brock. He will have to be very cautious about it.

I'm agreeing that his standup is very good in a standup only fight. My point was that he won't be able to fight like that for fear of being taken down by Brock. He will have to be very cautious about it.

 


 Obviously, he'll have to be cautious of Brock's shot, but Brock will have to be cautious of Overeem's skill set as well. For example, his knees...If Overeem times one of Brock's takedowns with those, we might see the first death in MMA. This is a dangerous fight for both guys, don't fool yourself.
