Let me start by saying I'm a fan of this mans. But after watching his recent video asking OG'ers for their honest opinion, I thought I'd give you mine.
I've been watching him from his UFC debut. His home town is only a few hours drive from my home & he hunts in my area all the time. But he was incredible when he debuted with the UFC. He wrecked Cabbage. He was a big head hunter with crazy power.
But as his career went on his style seemed to change. He went from being a headhunter to a 'point sparer'. It seemed like he became more & more fearful to engage. Prefering to just stay back & work off his jab. Which resulted in terrible fights with guys like Jeff Monson, Brandon Vera & Assuerio Silva. Fights that even though he won, it left a sour taste in everybodies mouth afterward.
What the point of winning if nobody cares? That's how business works. Thats why Zuffa is hesitant to bring him back, he's difficult to beat & boring to watch. Not a good combination. But how is the company supposed to feel when fans are falling asleep during the main event of their ppv?
Testing positive for juice didn't exaclly win him any fans either. Getting guzzled by Fedor so fast it was embarassing. Then that disgrace with Ray Mercer. What did he weigh for that fight? 315 ... 320 lbs? Fuck.
He's been winning but doing it in a lazy way. I've watched all of his fights outside the UFC and with the exception of his last 2 fights he's been out of shape since leaving the 'show'. He's fat. He has to understand that he's ALWAYS gonna have to watch his diet. Seriously.
Because if he can be serious about staying in shape (ie. walk around weight no more than 285 at any given time) and get back his killer instinct, he could give any HW on the UFC roster problems. Afterall that guy was 2 time world champion.
My 2 cents ...
Well, he asked for the opinions.....
fair post OP.
not hatin'
just sayin'.
Nice!
I hope he gets back in the UFC.
he has all the tools, lets see
I agree with the OP. Ive always liked Tim and honestly I'd like to see him given a chance. Maybe a one fight deal with more conditional on winning. He does have to the tools.
This post likely represents 90% of the people that dislike him.
Jack Skellington - he has all the tools, lets see
Hey, you take that logical well thought out perfect post and GTFO
Of my head!
If Tim can do what Jack is asking, then I say bring him back, six pack or not.
He's boring and only has size fuck him don't want him in the UFC he should stick to being a pig cop
Archer0545 - I agree with the OP. Ive always liked Tim and honestly I'd like to see him given a chance. Maybe a one fight deal with more conditional on winning. He does have to the tools.
This.
Blunderhooks - OP is 100% fair and correct
Yup
I don't care either way. If he came back to put on a show again i'd say okay, but he's so obsolete as far as the UFC goes now. Looks like he made bad decisions and now has to live with them.
Logical post from op. I agree with him.
I agree
His last fight in Pro Elite was just brutal to watch. It was terrible.
Should have him fight Mark Hunt.
He always reminded me of an angry statue, lurching forward...I don't miss the guy.
if he's not poor then stay retired
if he is poor, thats not a reason to fight
its like tito asking to fight forest
so they both can caddylack to a paycheck
