Another good showing with some talented fighters statewide.
The arena was sold-out again, and everyone was treated to some exciting MMA matches. Credit to all the competitors for putting on a great show.
Little Chris Manuel (ATT) took on James Rodgers from Team Trauma. Chris showed superior technique as he clinched, took his opp. down, and went to the mount position where he opened James up with straight punches before spinning for the armbar and getting the tapout in the first round. Nice debut win for one of our young stars!
Steve Bruno (ATT) took on Anthony Tolone from Marcio Sima's academy in Orlando. Styles make fights and this proved to be a bad match up for Anthony on his first fight.
Steve's stand up proved to be too much as Anthony tried to take this fight to the ground. There Steve was able to get off some solid shots that dazed Anthony before the ref stopped this in the the first round. Great job by Stevie as he was finally able to showcase those skills. Congrats to my man!
Rafael Diaz (ATT) took on Steve Kenneson from Chicago. Both fighters came out throwing, but Rafie was able to slip to the back of Kenneson from the clinch position and take him down. From there Rafie took the back where he triangled the body, and sunk in a rear naked choke for the tapout win in the first round. Great win for Rafie who has made steady improvement with each passing fight. Congrats to Rafie!!
Dustin "Clean" Denes (ATT) was facing Darrel Smith from Indiana. Nothing fancy here, just Dustin doing what he does best - wait for his opening and seize it.
Darrel landed some nice shots from inside Dustin's guard, but Dustin was able to secure a triangle to end this fight in the 2nd round. Fight was for the most part, Clean working from his guard as Darrel tried to land punches while steering clear of Clean's kimura and triangle submission attempts. Nice win for Clean as he settles into the 170# division. Congrats on the W!
Congrats to ALL the fighters who fought tonight and putting on a great show.
