What do you recommend and why? I'm looking to put in muscle. Don't really need to lose any fat.

rpribyl - It doesnt really do much at all. Save yourmoney and buy a shit ton ofgood foodMoney doesn't matter to me
What kind of benefits can I expect?

To be honest I have never noticed a single benefit while taking aminos. I'm sure someone else may chime in here with something different. But if money is not an issue I would just buy a shot ton of steak and other awesome tasty meat
The main benefit of taking free form BCAAs vs. eating some type of protein is that BCAAs will enter the blood stream more rapidly.
In my opinion that is the biggest difference/advantage than just eating protein. Other than that there is no major difference than consuming high quality protein sources to simulate muscle protein synthesis.
If you aren't familiar with what muscle protein synthesis is here is an article written by Layne Norton that discusses MPS, BCAA content in food, and BCAAs(Leucine specifically).

I have zero opinion on BCAAs since I've never taken them but the general consensus is that they are way overpriced and you're typically better off just sticking to food or whey.
Good quality whey such as Gold Standard has the same amount in 2 servings.
I take them before training and typically find I have better endurance. I don't know the science behind this but I definitely notice a difference.
Placebo
Please list everything you have had to eat over the last year , then we can see where you are deficient and recommend the best BCAA to take , thanks
Aren't aminos just nutrients and vitamins your body loses while working out?
I don't think it's to put on mass or anything.
All day you may by Rich Piana's 5% nutrition. Just check out this in-depth review.

You don't need anything except multivitamins and simple creatine. Everything else is marketing bs.
Spend money on quality food.

damn i remember being a teenager just getting into working out, i went to GNC with my buddy and we bought some amino acid supplements..we thought we would really notice a different in size and strength or endurance and what did we get from it, nothing...the same thing i got from most other supplements tbh..just eat right and workout hard and u will grow..
random_muppett - I find that bcaas really help my recovery time. Might be mental though. I am old however (41).Glutamine is scientifically proven to increase recovery time

Pessimist_Pete -Wait. Increase recovery time? Like take longer to recover? Or decrease and not take as long to recover?random_muppett - I find that bcaas really help my recovery time. Might be mental though. I am old however (41).Glutamine is scientifically proven to increase recovery time
