"Nathan Marquote (or whatever his name is)
WTF is this dude all about?
Before the fight, he puts himself ABOVE Ken Shamrock, Frank Shamrock and Bas Rutten and then goes out and fights like a damn girl.........
He fights the entire fight as if he were WAY ahead on the judges cards. Did someone forget to tell him that this was his UFC debut?
And also, it looked like an "off-night" for Salaverry.
I think he is a much better fighter with Maurice in his corner!
BTW, where was MO?"
He put himself in the same class as those people listed about being that he is ALSO a KOP. Not that he was overly impressive but Ivan held him in his guard with a figure-four lock for a long long time resulting in several stalls and stand-ups. Stalling is at best equal fault to both fighters, if not more the fault of the fighter on the bottom. At least
Nathan Margarette is/was the "new" guy coming in, and all he talked about was what he was gonna do and how he was gonna do it and then he goes out and doesn't do jack.
I don't care if he is 7-time KOP, or 14-time KOP,
he is the NEW Undisputed Most Boring Fighter in MMA!
Nathan is indeed a stud. Feed one of last seasons TUF 185'ers to him and see what happens. Ivan is awesome and has been on quite a roll however it is difficult to look very good against someone as skilled as Nathan. The fight went as I expected. It was pretty much a stalemate with Nathan having a slight advantage. In this case two great fighters = one boring fight. It happens.
Styles make the fight, both fighters looked like they were waiting for the other to fuck up, counter punchers...put two of them in a cage and you get what you got...kind of boring pitcher's duel, conversly, put two sluggers in the cage and everybody spooges.
This is what happen when 2 highly skilled fighters are not aggresive. Neither can do much cause their both very skilled and neither had the "instinct" to push the fight.
BTW Nate had some really heavy leg kicks.
LOL also, some girl at the bar i watched the fight fell asleep during it
