I'm thinking there's a link in between the two realities. Desond tries to kill Locke in the alt and Locke tries to kill Desomnd in th crash timeline. Only Desmond can be concious of both and he is trying to use that to his advantage to beat smokey.
I try not to buy stuff from walmart or even go there.
