I was wondering if anyone know's Anderson Silva's Muay Thai record? I have only been able to find one Muay Thai fight on youtube. I also found out he has fought and lost on two occassions to Jose "Pele" Landi-Jons, in Muay Thai. Other then this info it's difficult to find much about his Muay Thai career.
And that one loss at Lumphinee was to Rickson Gracie.... by armbar.... but he didn't tap
I hear he can shed his limbs like a lizard, and the new one grows back bigger and stonger!
lol, thanks for the humor guys. Just can't seem to findout much about his Muay Thai. I do think in the UFC his Muay Thai is excellent I'm just trying to find more info. I find the UFC seems to embellish their own fighters reputation to the point that most UFC fans would think that Anderson Silva is the best Muay Thai fighter in the world. Lol, if this is that case why can't I find any info on the guy???
Because Brazil is a 3rd world country?
2nd world. Example of third- Haiti.Big difference between 2nd and 3rd. Easy to find lots of info. on mma (vale tudo) from Brazil???
My understanding is that both have been fighters for Chute Boxe but at different times???
"Second World" refers to the former communist-socialist, industrial states, (formerly the Eastern bloc, the territory and sphere of influence of the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic) today: Russia, Eastern Europe (e.g., Poland) and some of the Turk States (e.g., Kazakhstan) as well as China.
It really has nothing to do with how much of a shithole the place is...
Sorry you think of Brazil as a shithole, I've never been there so I can't comment. Instead of third I should say "Neutral" country as I don't want to get in a political debate. Back to my question hard to find info on Anderson's past.
I didn't say Brazil is a shithole. I meant a country being a second world or third world has nothing to do with its shitholeness.
Brazil is third world.
I think Silva fought Pele before he joined Chute Boxe. Pele did coach Silva for some time I believe
^^ you sir are a retard. Brazil is hardly third world. You know its got like um, factories and telecommunications and military and navy and are the largest producers of ethanol in the world etc etc....
third world think zimbabwe, el salvador, burma, haiti...
^You sir are the retard.
Did you not read and comprehend the post explaining what was meant by "third world"? Fucking El Salvador has factories, telecommunications, military, and navy as well, (I know, I travel there frequently!), but its a fucking 3rd world nation.
"Third World" was a term coined by the French philosopher/novelist/playwrite/activist Jean-Paul Satre, by which he meant countries that were aligned neither with the USA nor the USSR, during the Cold War (1947-1991). They tended to be the less developed countries, and gradually "Third World" came to be associated with "less developed" or as it is now optimistically expressed, "developing".
-Mauricio Sakata
Brazil is one of the BRIC nations
Brazil
Russia
India
China
They are not exactly 3rd world/developing nations
But rather, EMERGING nations.
brookes, i like you so i wont keep calling you a retard, but dude, comparing el salvador's "factories" to brazil, a country with an aerospace industry is completely absurd.
third world may have had one connotation in the past but what it means today is undeveloped piece of shit country with low life expectancies, lack of modernity, and an utter sense of fucked'up'dom
brazil is cusping on first world. hell the US has third world parts of it. appalachia is a great example. parts of arkansas, alabama, etc. places with no running water or health care or education. here in the us. so favelas dont automatically make brazil 'not first world'.
in fact, one could argue that all members of the recently anointed G-20 are certainly first world.
language is dynamic, temporal and contextual. shit changes. today third world has nothing to do with cold war alliances. nadda.
now what WAS anderson silva's muay thai record?
Who's calling KK a retard????????
Step off before you get dropped off.
I dont know his record
But according to a Pele interview. Him and Anderson both entered the same Muay Thai tournament twice. With Pele winning by KO each time
"third world may have had one connotation in the past but what it means today is undeveloped piece of shit country with low life expectancies, lack of modernity, and an utter sense of fucked'up'dom"
And this is where we disagree. Just because the general public has come to misinterpret what the definition of 1st world, 2nd world, and 3rd nations are does not change the fact that these terms are geo-political designations.
However, this is a really stupid argument that has hijacked a thread with a legitimate question. What is Anderson Silva's Muay Thai record?!?
I've only seen one video (on YouTube) of him in a MuayThai match, and there really wasn't much to be seen. It was more or less a walkthrough and its very difficult to gauge his true skill in MuayThai only from that one match....
brookes, i'll leave it alone after this one: i have a masters in international affairs from the georgetown school of foreign service. and i'll tell you that the connotation i explained is the prevailing usage in foreign policy circles and not the general public.
and hijacking a dormant thread after a month can't be THAT big of a deal ;)
anyway, i too would love to know what AS's muay thai record is....
Thanks for the info!!! Crazy never would have thought Pele would have KO'ed Silva.
I've heard that Silva trained in Thailand was wondering if he ever fought there? I guess that info would be even harder to find?
