UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is trying more to be more accessible. Often criticized for his inability, or perhaps unwillingness, to speak English, the fighter is now doing so whenever possible in his time with the media.

A new documentary, Like Water, chronicling Silva's life during his preparation for the UFC 117 fight with Chael Sonnen is set to debut April 22 at The Tribeca Film Festival.

"The first time I watched the documentary – oh my God," Silva said. "Jesus. Amazing. This is me? Oh. But I'm happy. I'm very excited.

"This is very important. Not for me. For my family, and my sons watch the documentary. I talk to my sons all the time. 'You have all the chance [to become] a strong man for the world. The best man in the world. But it's very important you take focus. I love my sons. They're good boys."

"Sometimes I'm so scared. No fight, please. You like to play soccer? Go to play soccer. The fight? No.

"I have my friends that fight. My team, my students. But sometimes, I'm, 'Oh my God. No more.' It's crazy. Jesus. My sons, no."

Interesting.......

i think he never opened up to the fans and the media and let ppl know who he was until recently. he gave blunt and sometimes arrogant answers to people. reality is he is a cool guy and very likable.

No good parent would want his child to get punched in the face for a living

Yeah, tell that to Machidas father. You just don't respect the art and the sport.

I don't know if you noticed, but Machida's entire style is predicated on not getting hit in the face.

Machida's dad wanted him to retire after the Shogun loss.

He's brazilian, he wants his sons to play soccer instead, that's not very suprising

Anderson loves MMA and football(soccer for you guys). That's why I love the guy so much. Phone Post

Machida's dad wants him to drink piss.

You play soccer if you want to be rich, not trane UFC

No matter which way you cut it, fighting Jesus is bad for the sport. That shit doesn't sit well with anybody.

Anomonis - Anderson's kids probably saw the beating Sonnen put on him and don't want any of that.

Yea they saw their dad choke chael out in the most legendary comeback in mma history reminding us all again why hes truly one of a kind and one of the GOAT's.
