Anderson is back....
Now that he has an official fight on the horizon its making me wonder how it will all go for him.
Some things I've been pondering ..If you are Nick, or any future opponent of Andys. Do you go into that fight thinking you're gonna test that leg?...Of course you're gonna test his chin.
Are his opponents going to have a lot of confidence after seeing Chris finish what Chael started? ....
Or do they still walk in thinking thats Anderson Silva and I've still gotta have respect for what he's capable of?....
So many questions
Solly97 - Silvas leg physically will be stronger than ever, but mentally he's scarred.Brings up another good question about his leg strength. Can his bone still break with that rod in it? Is he going to ever throw a kick with his other leg for fear of it breaking?
Scarred me as well, I started conditioning my shins hardcore

He may or may not be,, time will tell, I would think that that kind of injury will always be In the back of someone's head, especially before he goes to throw a leg kick, but this is going to be a brawl.. Both fighters love to box, and we all know Diaz has cardio for days... It is going to be interesting to see how the spider holds up, I bet he doesn't throw many leg kicks, I'm still guessing a late sub or death by the clinch by Silva..
I like his place right now. Being that his legacy is established and we get to enjoy him on a new platform where he may be taking this super-fights to wind down his career with. It's like after you beat a video game, you run through it with a different character just for the fun of it. Same game, new appeal.
When was his last 3 round fight?! Years ago, right?!
1_underpar - When was his last 3 round fight?! Years ago, right?!Stephen Bonnar was scheduled for 3 wasn't it?

2012
Is this a 3 round fight? Not sure how I feel about that if that is the case. I understand wanting his first fight back to be a 3 round fight but man I'm looking forward to this fight and 2 more rounds makes me only want it here faster.
5 round fight. Of course the main event and that's what the articles say.

But I agree with wanting 5!

Pretty sure it's a 5 round fight. They announced it as the main event
Lets not forget Silva lost to Weidman. That guy is a beast and doesn't get the credit he deserves. Silva with his mind and nerves under control will destroy Nick imo.

Just because Andy lost to him doesn't mean he's a washed up has been. He's one of the best ever and can still ruin your night with a quickness!

I thought it had to be a title fight for 5 rounds... Could be wrong, I have been before

I think Silva will continue to throw leg kicks but with less power and more emphasis on placement, especially if Nick checks them. I don't see him making too many adjustments because kicking is such an important part of his arsenal. Plus, I just think that he is such a mentally strong fighter that he will overcome any fear in the octagon.

If Nick gets too close, I think Silva will initiate and dominate a clinch.
Slower punchers like Diaz seem like great favourites candidates for Matrix dodging though.
Not sure if Silva can handle Nick's pace. Especially his first fight back.
Nick has a great chin but Silva has KO power in his punches. I expect Nick will get dropped at least once, but he always recovers on the ground.
Silva has a pretty long reach. Longer than Nicks I think. Not having a teach advantage seems to take a bit of the effectiveness of Diaz style away IMO. Might have more trouble getting past the jab than people imagine.
I'm a big fan of both guys, and each of their styles are amazing, but clearly neither is perfect and both have flaws the other could exploit.
Very excited to see how this impossible to predict fight plays out.
Nick's got a hell of a chin,so it is possible it may go the distance. He'll look like the Toxic Avenger after it's over but he may be able to do it. He has zero footwork and standing in front of Silva is a bad idea. I'm thinking he'll try to bait Silva into a BJJ match where he at least has a chance but that will be difficult.
He's gunna matrix diaz back to the 209 , he's gunna go to Bisping's backyard and give him the business , he's gunna go deep deep to china and take out the cung le , then he will announce CHRIS WEIIII MANNNNNNN , MY BELT BACKKKKKKKK
