Andre Galvao competed in BJJ/No-Gi this past Saturday (6/18), rolling for the first time since the Pan-Ams against Alexandre Ceconi, Carlos Diego Ferreira, and more at the 'Fight for Faith" tournament this past weekend. Beast! Phone Post

Didn't he do the samurai pro after pan-ams? Phone Post

^^Yup Phone Post

pretty good wrestling for a bjjer WRESTLENOW would be proud.

dbl

I was surprised to see him dominate ceconi. I figured he would at least score on galvao. Phone Post

Anybody else notice galvao looking a little huge and puffy? Maybe it was just the camera. Phone Post

He was definitely huge in person. Not out of shape or anything, just a lot more muscular than I thought he would be. Definitely a beast. He rolled a lot of matches that day too. All the vids are on the same YouTube Channel.

Yea a brown belt training partner of mine competed against him and Ceconi said they were both really awesome! Phone Post

hey mike, your vids are a godsent for my tournament training homework, and my fav was the 13 second dar'ce choke

Is that John Jordan you're talking about? That dude is a certified bada55.

Why did he not do the worlds?

Amazing what he did to Ceconi. Ceconi is a stud in the Gi, maybe he is just not so great NoGi or maybe Andre is just getting better and better. He sure does have a badass team to train with.

After watching what Ceconi did to Ryan Hall in Houston it realy gives it some scale to how good Galvao really is. Why didn't he compete at worlds this year?

Also, keep in mind Ceconi placed third in the absolute at Worlds just a few weeks ago.

Regarding why Galvao skipped the Worlds -- I believe it was on the FightWorks Podcast I heard Galvao say that because of starting his new school in SD, he's not had a chance to train with high level guys. In fact, I chuckled when he said something like "I have only one brown belt and he doesn't show up very often"

Do you get points if you take your opponents back but he stands up and you stay on like a backpack?  Happened in the last video.  Just wondering.
