Andre Galvao doesn't make TUF13 cast!

Wow. Should have done the hair dye, tribal tats and hard drinking routine.

From an interview:

Well, the decision came from my managers; they tried to put me in The Ultimate Fighter (season 13). Unfortunately it did not work out, and the phone never rang. It seems that they will be recording the show very soon and I wasn’t called. But I am not worried, my time will come eventually and I will return to a big event soon.

Good. Came in with a lot of hype and has not lived up to it. Disappointing but no-one is entitled to be given opportunities if they can't put it together just because they have a name in another sport.

UFC didn't want someone who lost in Strikeforce. Politics.

You have to earn your stripes

I think at they tryouts they said that some guys had too much experience for what they were looking for.

they didnt want andre to win because hes not that marketable

I don't think he has exceeded expectations, but he has had some very tough fights already. Just look at his last five fights - Woodley, Macaco, Luke Stewart, Jason High, and John Alessio. Those are all good fighters and he only has one KO and one split decision loss amongst that group. In all of the fights, his grappling looked very solid as it should.

Also, watch his tryout video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6Fqrg7pAvo (he rolls at the end). He looked good and I heard he was the only one that Dana let grapple over the alotted time limit.

Interesting. There must be a reason we are missing. Its not like they don't know who he is. Maybe they will offer him a contract? Thats what happened to Junior Assuncao. He barely missed making TUF and then they offered him a contract

ganther - If you dont speak english, then you dont get to be on TUF.

HAHAHAHHAAA

BROCK LESNAR

JAMES TONEY

KIMBO SLICE

You're a fucking idiot.

They got a shot because they are household names are bring in the cash. Nobody outside the BJJ community knows who Galvao is. Besides, his MMA career has been less than stellar. It's like Vinny Magales (sp?) - Great BJJ player, fails to reach his potential in MMA.

BROCK LESNAR - Won the world title!

JAMES TONEY - Dana signed him so he can lose!

KIMBO SLICE - Knew he was terrible just made millions of money off him!

You're a fucking idiot.

Maybe you are for saying that!

Guy who disappoints in strikeforce ripping thru TUF is not a storyline they're looking for

Try prefer for guys they cut to win in other promotions, not the other way around. Phone Post

The show would have been perfect he could have improved his stand up it's not like they get one dimensional strikers who try to improve there ground skill oh wait they do

LMAO at the guys implying he wasn't good enough. He isn't fighting Anderson Silva, he is a candidate for a TUF season!

He has beaten John Alessio already- that's more than nine out of ten guys on there can do I'd imagine. The competition he would face in the TUF house would be far inferior to Woodley, Alession, High, Macaco and Stewart. Plus he is new to MMA, but with lots of experience in a related combat sport. In other words, perfect for this sort of environment where he can improve his other skills.

TUF isn't about to wheel out a bunch of demons for his season; it will be the usual petty criminals with 3-2 records on smaller shows and one college wrestler who dominates everyone. What a fucking joke to imply that they have 16 better candidates than Galvao.

And concerning Vinny, "disappointing" though he may be he still armbarred The Polish Experiment in about a minute and only lost to Ryan Bader in the final.

Fucking disgraceful decision.

I thought MX had been sniffing glue until I saw the phone icon

Damn you UFC!!!! This would have easily been my favorite TUF had Galvao been in it. He may not have met peoples expectations but he's been getting some stiff competition for someone who's new to the sport. TUF would have been a great experience for him to up his game and boost his confidence. What a huge fuckin disappointment! Phone Post

i remember hearing his english was poor as well, but i interviewed him few monht sback and he did fine.

He speaks english just fine. He's a very exciting grappler to watch, never been in a bad fight. I really have no clue why they didn't get him on. The talent just seems to be getting worst on the show.

His loss against Woodley was coming off a war against Macaco and on short notice, definitely not the best fight to be taking. He got clipped early and never recovered. The one thing about Galvao I'm not sold on yet is his chin, he doesn't seem to take a good shot.

His striking technique is not that bad as well. He just doesn't believe in it yet and he's still very new to it. He will improve at it in time.

i dont think so,javi ,leo and a bunch of guys didnt make it.

Most likely they know he is a BJJ guy so that means less stand 'n wang for Dana.
