Man, and imagine that few months latter Andy discovered that he had Leukemia.
By the way, you can see at the end of the fight the respect among both guys.Especially for Mirko's side.

Hug was on a serious ass kicking spree before he was diagnosed. Very, very sad.
This clip makes the match look more competitive than it was. Crocop was PISSED towards the end and looked like he wanted to give up. Hug was putting him everywhere in the ring that he wanted him to be and tagging him left and right. Hug's was ready for his kicks, was a way better boxer, and wouldn't let Crocop bully him like everybody else did back then.
Thx for the video BRO HYMN. On a side note, everyone always talks about the power in Cro Cop's left leg. It is obviously his most dangerous weapon, but people seem to overlook that he has some "real" power in his hands!

Kwon.ch sold the tapes of the K-1 Switzerland events. But I can t find them any more on their page.

He seemed to get that way sometimes in K-1 when things werent going his way. Its a blast to whack guys in the head with your foot. But eating pin point body shots isnt so much fun.

I remember the first Shidokan I ever saw, one guy came out at the bell and immediately KO'd his opponent with an axe kick as they met in the center. The guy's face looked like it exploded.

That's how guys fight! Just bang and make the crowd crazy. On a side note, I was in Fukuoka, Japan. K-1 came to town, I think it was '99 (shortly before Hug was diagnosed I believe). There was a strip club called 10 Karat. We see this tall dude come out and get a taxi with 3 smokin chicks. Come to find out it was Hug. He banged in AND outta the ring! RIP

You know what? If you're successful and your wife does nothing at home, then she doesn't exactly have a lot of recourse when you're getting near perfect 18 to 25-year-old asian ass thrown at you like it's an olympic event and you cave in every so often.
