So in the past five years we've lost five former enforcers. Probert, Boogaard, Rypien and Belak all showed significant signs of CTE. In Boogaard's case, they concluded that he would've suffered from "advanced dementia" by the age of 45. Scary shit.

Fighting doesn't need to be banned but I think the role of enforcer needs to go. If more players actually stood up for themselves instead of relying on one guy to take all the bumps from fighting then this wouldn't happen anymore and the game would be so much better.

BilbOno - Fuck, this sucks.I don't think the fighting is a huge issue. The gear now compared to what the guys who passed away were wearing is leages above what it was then. Hockey is one of the last sports where there not trying to soften it up. I hope it can stay that way. Best sport on earth in my opinion.
