What up, Im Jack, Scott's friend. Thanks for letting me roll.
I learned the guillatine in high school and got pretty good with it.
When i started doing it in bjj, Rigan and Jean Jacques would call it the twister because the guillotine was already taken in bjj. I kept calling it the guillotine but Rigan and Jean Jacques just kept calling it the twister and then after a couple years they started calling me the twister. I hated it and acutally asked them what the twister was in portugese to see if it sounded a little less gay than the twister. JJ said it was "torro naahh doh" but that never stuck not even for 2 seconds.
But after people from the stands started yelling out the twister at tournaments when I stepped out on the mat, I started to actually like it, then it stuck.
I have 3 books out and in all of them, I never claimed to invent the twister, I just came up with set ups that would work in bjj because the only set up in wrestling was from the back and in bjj that is the hardest position to get and plus if you got the back you were taught to go for a rnc. So i developed the set up from side control that you see on the video i posted, that's all :)

Lumbricus terrestris - of all the bs crap from eddie (rubber guard, lockdown...) the twister is the best. Its actually a damn sick transition from all over the place.
I wonder why the RG and the LD are not bs moves for me and my students? What the hell are we doing right????

Sometimes it takes 3 rounds to land enough shots to ko someone and sometimes a fighter is on another fighters back for a couple of minutes before finally sinking in the choke. Same thing with that position japanese dude was in, I call it broken bat control. Sometimes it takes a minute or 2 to close the deal from that position. It's only boring if you don't care about those particular fighters.
Put 2 famous fighters in broken bat and I think it would be very suspenseful. If it was for a UFC belt, the crowd would be going nuts waiting to see if the twister was gonna be pulled off, imo. :)

Eddie, i love the twister but blow on the set ups. Im not good at learning through books, the rubber guard i grasped alot better and understood more after purchasing the dvd. With that said, are you planning on putting mastering the twister on dvd as well? The closest tenth planet to me is rochester, about five or six hours away, so my only learning source is your books since noone around here is teaching this stuff. A mastering the twister dvd i would watch more than my favorite porno.
