Another twister in mma....(video)

10thplanetzombie - what would happen if someone didnt tap when they got in a twister. someone like Royce or the other bad ass gracies????

wouldnt they be out for the rest of their life???

cause i could feel my spine ripping to shreds when i was caught in it

huh eddie?
It depends how the twister is lined up, it could hurt you knee, back, ribs or neck. The guy I learned for it from in high school separated ribs with it  :)

TTT

bigwignj - Eddie, i love the twister but blow on the set ups. Im not good at learning through books, the rubber guard i grasped alot better and understood more after purchasing the dvd. With that said, are you planning on putting mastering the twister on dvd as well? The closest tenth planet to me is rochester, about five or six hours away, so my only learning source is your books since noone around here is teaching this stuff. A mastering the twister dvd i would watch more than my favorite porno.
Well take a day and come up to Rochester to train =)

Dory - That's funny. All I saw was a guillotine.

Still, very nice.

 ???????

twister is the most painful submission i have ever experienced

it feels like your spine and neck are going to snap

Lumbricus terrestris - of all the bs crap from eddie (rubber guard, lockdown...) the twister is the best. Its actually a damn sick transition from all over the place.

Dude, wtf are you talking about? The lockdown and everything that flows from it is revolutionary when it comes to having a great half guard game!

shayna baszler did it in mma and in grappling

Eddie, how about throwing a 10th Planet Sponsorship to Roli Delgado for UFC 105.  You know hell use Rubber Guard or something youll like.  ;- )

"The lockdown sucks"

Roger Graice uses it now and so does Matt Serra, tell them that :-)

Oh, check this out, Macaco is using it now too, look at his beautiful electric chair, which in not possible without the lockdown :)

Lumbricus terrestris - Just watched that match and i didnt see the lockdown. There was a lot of butterfly half though. Dude still got crushed because he couldnt control the distance. Also, goddamn their wrestling is horrible.

I posted the wrong match, the electric chair match is posted right above this one

nice twister

aussie.

I don't sponsor fighters, I'm no baller like dude who owns One More Round, but I am very flattered that he uses the 10th Planet system.

Dudes who wear the 10th Planet flag when they fight are usually my students or part of my association. Check out Vinny reppin.......

I remember when I was a freshman in college (cough 1988) there was a wrestler there on scholarship and he rolled through everyone for fun and told me "this is a guillotine, I love using this thing on people." It hurt like fuck and stretched out my spine for sure.

Funny I still think about that over 20 years later thinking what it would have been like back then if I knew the BJJ I know now...probably still would have crushed me, lol.

Lumbricus terrestris - It didnt help serra against hughes or GSP. it mostly bought him a beating.

How do you feel about the 93 guard/Knee Block half guard? Half butterfly? Both are great ways to not only get sweeps but make transitioning to x guard, leglocks, deep half and standing back up easy. Reverse De La Riva is right there too.
No techs work 100% of the time. If there was one that did, that move is all you would ever need.

How many bjj blackbelts in the UFC have been forced on their backs, got a beating and then went on to lose a decision? There have been alot of failed traditional guards in the UFC but no one says shit when that happens, only when the rubber guard fails do people bring up guard work :)

How do I feel about 93 guard?? I don't only teach the lockdown series, that is a huge misconception. I teach x-guard, deep half(I love what Jeff Glover has done with that), butterfly, half butterfly, which I call the super stomp, quarter guard and my students and I are always looking for new ways to play half guard but the lockdown series is my favorite because it's a clinching guard and clinching guards, imo, are always best for mma. I have alot of students training for a career in mma so I try to give them all clinching habits first, open scrambling habits second  :)

The Bravo haters need to be punched in the throat.

I spent a week out training in LA about 4 years ago. Trained at many places but went to eddies the most. Probably 6 times. To this day my game has never improved so much in one week.

Poindexter - The Bravo haters need to be punched in the throat.

Eddie and I were at an mma show in Hollywood and some guy was talking about how he wouldnt ever let someone get him to the ground because he doesnt like to fight there. He would just take out their knee (then he did some manuever with his foot to show us he was serious) Eddie asked him how he practiced taking out someones knee if he never trained before and he had never sparred. He just said he knew he could do it...I know that guys probably posts here.
