This is not Ultimate Wrestling Championship....yes we understand wrestling is a part of MMA but it's so overrated....and soon as a judge sees takedowns it's basically an automatic win....mighty mouse pushed the pace of that fight, landed numerous shots, defended and got up almost every time, countered well....but soon as you get taken down, and your fight goes to decision YOU LOSE...shits weak...if you cant stop a wrestler....then you've already lost
Refs need to be more strict about stale ground work, and judges need to change their scoring, UFC is slowly being taken over by wrestle fuckers....

Dude see where I'm coming from, jon jones an Cain Velasquez use their wrestling effectively they teansition and keep the fight going, they don't just lay there and hold their opponent down to victory they are both great wrestlers, but they understand the full aspect of MMA and respect that it's MIXED MARTIAL ARTS...cause usually when you have a fighter who's only great in one aspect he loses... Except wrestling, its too overpowered, like I said hate me if you want, it needs more balancing on judges scorecards

Wrestling is a part of Mixed Martial Arts, Cruz used it to his advantage.
It is no different than someone using their Boxing or BJJ to their advantage.
Why in the hell should someone like Cruz not use his wrestling skills to win? Where in the rules does it state that you have to be a crowd pleaser?

They see more than one takedown, disregard any and all submission attempts or in this case suplexes as well and just throw an mma buzzword with negative connotation on there.

The worst example of a guy with an undeserved 'lay & pray' reputation is Sean Sherk. That dude is whirling dervish on the ground, and NEVER lays in guard, yet the morons on internet message boards always whine about him laying & praying. It doesn't matter how active he is on the ground, they always cry 'lay & pray' as soon as the fight hits the mat.
