Yves Edwards and Antonio Silva will compete at EliteXC "Renegade" Saturday, Nov. 10, sources close to the American Top Team have confirmed. Edwards (29-13-1) will meet Moses Baca (2-2); Silva (8-1), meanwhile, will collide with Jonathan Wiezorek (11-1).
I had the opportunity to interview Wiezorek after he beat Dan Severn a few years back in West Virginia, and you'd be hard pressed to meet a nicer, more respectful person. I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
I thought Wiezorak said he was going to get into shape a few years ago?
Too bad, a talented fighter whose fitness will always hold him back.
And yes, I know he can move and go at a good pace for a man his size, but he doesn't have to be that size. This isn't a Fedor like case, where a guy holds onto an extra 15-20 pounds to give him some more mass. Wiezorak could drop 40 pounds and still be soft. No reason for him to be that size.
This isn't a bodybuilding competition. Wiezorek has always been fit to fight.
FYI-he was keeping his weight up to fight Antonio Silva in the photo posted above. Unfortunately for Antonio, the CSAC did not clear him and Wiez fought Tim Persey.
