I am currently in a white collar, high stressed corporate job. I plan on sucking it up for another 10 years or so in my current field, at which time I will be 50 years old.
My house will be paid off in a few years, I max out my 401K and have for a while, and I will have a pretty good college fund set up for my kids but I will still need to have a job to keep the money flowing in, just not as much as is currently required.
I am a blue collar person so I have always thought how being a heavy equipment operator would be a pretty enjoyable, fairly low stress, interesting job.
Anyone here in the industry? What kind of salary would I expect? Hours, stress, etc.
How do you get started?
