Any Old-er School Shooter's Left?

With the prevalence of new technology in shooting sports being very popular in the last few years, I thought I'd make a thread celebrating some older technology and see who is of like mind.

I know there's some revolver fans here, but seems as though every gun thread has a strong AR and Glock presence, not dogging those at all, as at some points in the past I have owned and enjoyed many of those and similar type arms.

Lets see what you got!

FYI

The rifle is a Marlin 1895g in .45-70 Govt.

The revolver is a Ruger New Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt

Haha YES!!!

Thank You! Vu when it refreshes tomorrow!!!

Thanks guys for the pics!

I have a 1968 three screw Blackhawk. Only Blackhawks owners can appreciate four clicks.

I love my 41 mag Blackhawk.

Part of the collection

In the middle are two Dan Wessons, they have interchangeable barrels. The 357 has the 2.5, 4, 6 and 8 inch barrels, the 44 has a 2.5 and 4 inch barrel.

Nice!

Love the 41 magnum, carried a Taurus Tracker in .41 hiking for years.

It was a hard choice when I got the Blackhawk choosing between the .41 and .45.

Currently have my eye on a DW 1911 in 10mm

I carry a ruger vaquero in .44 mag with me when I deer hunt. They don't make it in 44 anymore so I'm hoping it will be a collectors item someday. Phone Post 3.0

yes

My first rifle was a guide gun like that. I love single action revolvers. Phone Post 3.0

I have a love affair with revolvers.
I shot an IDPA match with a 4" 686. Not exactly old school but still fun. It was hard bc I have the 7 shot and the rules state you can only have 6 shots for revolvers so I had to load 6/7 in my speed loaders and make sure the cylinder was latched on the open chamber. But that made it more fun!

I'm going to get a 4" 618 to match and looking for a nice lever gun. Probably a .357 for more rounds and cheaper to shoot. And a matching .357 single action. Phone Post 3.0

Sweet stuff. I love it. Don't have any old school stuff, but I wouldn't mind picking some up one day.

On an unrelated note... And I'm not being a dick here (e-mail and other stuff written online can easily be taken the wrong way because it comes without voice inflection) but just trying to help you out with something.....

You used what is known as the "Idiot's Apostrophe" in the thread title.

People have an incredible tendency to put an apostrophe in front of the letter "s" at the end of a word.

It is only proper if it indicates possession. For example, Seekntruth'S 45 Long Colt. It is not proper for plurals (e.g. pistols in different caliberS).

Quite possible that you knew this and just had a brain fart.

Writing and vocabulary is the way people judge other's intelligence. If you do that on a resume or even any business communication, it's going to reflect poorly.

But better you hear it from me than someone else.

Again, I'm not being a dick at all, just trying to help you correct something that reflects as negatively as anything with regard to the English language. The rest of your writing is too good to be dragged down by the Idiot's Apostrophe.

Yep 10-4, definitely a brain fart. I immediately saw it after posting. even before the first response. I don't think there is a way to edit thread titles? I wondered if somebody was going to point that out.

Thanks for the response, I will try to do a better job at proof reading in the future.

Fail on the "proofreading" and "posting, even" lol

Here's an awesome piece done by robar. I will have something similar. I love the looks of it. I believe it is their take on a single action for CCW
