Any questions for Fabio Gurgel?

If everything works out I should be interviewing Fabio Gurgel in a few days. Does anyone have any questions they want me to ask?

I would be interested to hear his insights to why some knowledgeable coaches are able to produce multiple different champions while some obviously knowledgeable coaches and successful former competitiors don't seem to be able to train others to a world class level

Some instructors like Terere have produced many very high level guys like Galvao and Cobrinha

While other accomplished competitiors and coaches have not

What might be that missing ingredient?

who is his funniest all time student?

is he a better surfer than rickson gracie?

who is the strongest pfp bjj competitor to come out of all the main camps, all time? carlson, alliance, etc.

most important lesson from jacare?

does the alliance style have technical differences from other teams, or is more just strategy at the higher levels?

out of all the great competitors to come out of alliance who did he think was the most skilled?

First hand Rickson sparring stories

this. Definitely accounts of him sparring with Rickson and what he witnessed Rickson do to other high level guys.

Thoughts on the new-ish modern game vs the old school stuff.

in sao paolo gurgel is known as one of the best businessmen in BJJ. almost like rorian except not as sleezy. i’m curious just how large his empire is.

What does he classify as fundamentals? Fundamentals are so braod and general. WHat some instructors consider some tehcniques as fundamentals and others consider those same techniques as advanced

I'm sure the fundamentals at Saulo RIbeiro's is vastly different than at an Atos school, even though both are successful academies with all spectrum of students

I'm curious to his thought at this because I believe he has some of the best fundamental teaching of anyone I've ever seen

Ask him to share a name or story of someone who is/was a monster on the mat, but probably not known by the average BJJ practitioner in the U.S.

what is the key to running a successful school in brazil?

would he do anything differently if he was producing new instructionals.?

No questions for him, just a simple, direct message: Watch it, bro.

…He’ll know who it’s from.

LOL. Classic Shen.

^ BTW I can’t communicate via MMA message app because I am a mud and you only accept messages from pros & friends.

Ahhhh ok, strange, I am mud too - just changed the settings

Two questions for the guys on here

1) whats Fabios style like? Ant matches I can watch etc

2) Where/When can I listen to this interview?

I think he was in one of the jiujitsu vs vale tudo fights from Gracie in Action. Would be interesting to hear him recount that experience. Or the fight with Mark Kerr.

How would he reduce turnover for new,  non athletic students?

Is the General now in charge that Romero Jacare is semi-retired?
