Anybody bake pizza on a cast iron?

Bought a pizza stone from Target about three weeks ago and it snapped in half during its second usage. Started looking online and it seems like every stone seems to have issues regardless of brand/price, so I decided to get a 14”x14” cast iron griddle instead. Anybody use one? Pros? Cons?

I use one all the time. Works great.

I use a stone that is decades old. No cracks.

I use my pan. It works amazingly. 

I use a pizza steel. Keep it in my oven almost 100% of the time. heavy as fuck like cast iron. excellent conductivity.

Hell yes, we got rid of the stone years ago.

Have a big Lodge one, use it all the time. And not just for pizza.

For deep dish I use a cast iron Dutch oven.

You'll never regret buying one.

Hells yeah. made home made pizza today on the old cast iron. Best shit ever. I’ve broken every pizza stone I’ve ever had, so I made the switch to CI and have never looked back.

If I was to start over building my kitchen tools I would go with a pizza steel over a stone. The cast iron griddle you picked up is more versitile than a stone too. 

I was gifted a stone that belonged to my wife's grandparents. I'm going to keep that thing going. I get good results. 

I just want to make it clear that a quality stone will last decades as long as you don't change it's temperature too fast.

so I don’t know how to use a pizza peel and I fucked up the shape, but it cooked great on the griddle
