Is it as good as i'm hearing? It's coming to my town and i'm very tempted to convince a group of friends to go. I'm not into theatre at all but i love South Park and some of the things people are saying about it make it sound like the greatest thing of all time lol So whatd you guys think? Is it worth the 225$ and two and a half hours?
If you like South Park you'll like the musical.
I wish I would've watched it when I was in town.
I'm in the same boat as you, not into musicals/theater
But the people I know who've seen it loved it and I trust their opinions
I absolutely love South Park and as a result went to see it in London a few months back.
It was so bad. Well, the first half anyway. Second half picked up slightly but still not great. Thought the humour was very basic.
In its defence I also hate musicals and had no idea this was one so that didn't help its cause in my eyes.
Solid 3.5 out of 10 from me.
Yeah it's worth it. Here's a taste
I'm not into musical theater myself, but heard really good things about it and decided to see it with the wife. Really, really glad I did. Fucking hilarious from beginning to end.
Tip: if you do decide to go, be on time or you'll miss the opening number. Enjoy.
Haven't seen this show but I want to
Loved it
The Southpark movie was a musical, and they said the stage thing was going to be a musical, kinda crazy to go there and not expect a musical.
Not been yet myself, should do though.
Went with the wife and had no idea what to expect. It was good. Very non-PC, South Park kind-of humor.
never seen book of mormons.. but i've seen the pamplet of mormons... those fuckers leave it at the door about every 2 or 3 months..
Not a musical fan but I loved it
I've never seen a musical before but I went to see it when it came to Phoenix and I was blown away. The talent on stage was amazing and the jokes were fairly funny. The second half gets a little more raunchy but the whole thing was still an incredible experience. I definitely recommend it.
One of the interesting things my girlfriend and I noted was the diverse crowd. There were college students and also Mormons in their 60's. Regardless of demographics, I saw everybody around me laughing and enjoying themselves.
Love south park and wanted to like this but didn't, it had it's moments and the cast was obviously very talented but I didn't enjoy it and was honestly a little embarrassed it was my idea to go. About midway through its like enough with the maggots in the scrotum bit!
It must be the strangest crowd these theatres have ever attracted though, it was so far removed from what you'd expect to see in a theatre audience that I wouldn't have been surprised if there was beach ball being floated around
I do respect the fact that the Mormons have not done a single mass killing in response to having the piss taken out of them fairly comprehensively.
Can you imagine the carnage if they did a stage musical on Mohammed?
Marcus Agrippa - I do respect the fact that the Mormons have not done a single mass killing in response to having the piss taken out of them fairly comprehensively. It wouldn't make it through the opening night, someone would yell allah akbar midway through the first verse
Can you imagine the carnage if they did a stage musical on Mohammed?

It was funny but I don't necessarily think that you'd like it just because you like South Park or the South Park movie. It is very much a musical.
Still pretty funny.
By all means invite a group of your friends and settle in for the most awkward 2 hours of your life. It's literally the gayest thing I've ever seen. Took the wife and like an above poster said, I was embarrassed that it was my idea. My second idea was to bounce, so we left about 30 minutes into it. Chalked it up as a loss and we hit the town.
It was all my Broadway friends were capable of talking about, until Hamilton.
