Anybody train at Ricardo Almeidas in PA?

I just became aware of his gym that's literally 7 minutes from my house. Ricardo and his instructors seemed like really nice guys. Now unfortunately due to my work schedule I can only train 2 nights a week. Anybody train here? Thoughts? Phone Post 3.0

How much is it for the two nights a week? Phone Post 3.0

I've trained at his other location in nj. Great atmosphere and a lot of fun Phone Post 3.0

Two nights a week you can still make big gains.

It's about 2 hours from me. I haven't been there myself, but hear only good things! Phone Post 3.0

One of my good friends Chris Matakas is an instructor there. I've been meaning to check it out but I've been trying to save money recently.

I don't know. The instructors talked with me and said they didn't know how much it is and there manager would call me to discuss it, which tells me it's expensive lol. Phone Post 3.0

For sure over 200 a month. Maybe even 250. I can't justify paying over $2400 dollars a year to learn BJJ. Phone Post 3.0

That is obscene $$. I can recommend you way better places in the area for 1/2 that. Also Ricardo is not going to be there hardly at all, trust me. So yoh are learnibg from a brown belt for that - GTFO. And when Ricardo does come expect to be pressured into spending more $$ on a seminar. This might not be a popular opinion, but i used to train under him a long time ago and IMHO he has totally sold out to the money and over structured class bullshit. When i knew the dude halfway well and had to start bowing to him constantly, calling him professor and sir, bowing to pictures on the wall, not being shown stuff because we had to go by their "course progression", bs belt tests - nah. Damn someone's dropping some bombs. What better places to train? I'm in yardley pa, don't wanna drive much more than 20 minutes... I know there's a daddis gym in Hamilton but that's kind of a hike and expensive. There's also a place called MPR near me but their schedule just doesn't fit mine.

Also, do you know of any good Thai or boxing gyms in the area ? Phone Post 3.0

I live in Hamilton and last I heard that Daddis had closed down a couple months ago. A couple of my friends used to train there.

Well that sucks. Know of any good Thai or boxing gyms in the area?

Yardley area to be exact.

MPR endurance in fairless hills has an mma program and boxing have some friends that train there and heard good things. I train at Princeton BJJ- no Thai or boxing but lots of upper belts and great instruction and atmosphere. Phone Post 3.0

I don't think his school is open in New Hope Pa anymore. I was just there last weekend and it was empty unless he moved to another location. The one in Robinsville NJ is still there. Phone Post 3.0
