I just got it. playing my first match now
its excellent, a major improvement on fight night 2004, which says a lot.
yeah i like it better. the parrying system is a little different and takes some getting used to
I like the new training modes, and I like the cut man thing in between rounds
I also like that the stuff you buy your boxer actually helps him in the ring now
The only problem the game has is that sometimes the computer will only use haymakers (which most of the time are really just charged-up power punches). It's either too easy or really frustrating. Other than that, the game is awesome. The fact that you can block and punch while moving makes this a big improvement over other EA boxing games.
yeah when they do that constant haymaker shit, i just get low and jab to their body til they stop. or you can always throw haymakers to their body
the flash ko's and knockdowns are a nice addition also
i haven't scored a flash KO yet
its only happened to me once in 31 fights with diego corrales, left haymaker uppercut and bam he went down and wasn't getting back up.
great game. I like that the computer mostly throws haymakers...because that's what you get going up the ranks. Little boxing, and mostly haymakers.
I really like that you can move while punching and blocking. Now you can set up realistic combos: instead of jab/cross/uppercut, now it's jab/slip/cross/shield/uppercut/shield and move out.
I also like that you can straightblast your opponent ala pacquiao with multiple jabs and crosses while pressuring forward.
i might try that configuration. for some reason i have a hard time throwing right hooks on the default setting
I use 3 or 4. The button config is the way to go for now. But I suspect one can be faster with the stick, because I tried it a bit after a little practice, and the triple jab/cross comes out like lightning.
I thought you couldn't throw haymakers with the buttons, only with the sticks.
Still annoying that you need to put a guy down 3-4 times before he stops getting up.
