Anyone else still like ska music?

People around my area act like it’s basically a teenage guilty pleasure best not talked about. Went to see the Specials last year and the venue was half empty. People acting too cool to skank or ‘pick it up’

Named my first dog Prince Buster

Down there, you gotta have a label

Just like a cattle in a stable

Knee jerk reaction? I call it violence

Why speak out when you could be silenced?

Down there out on the dance floor

Too much violence I don’t want more

Down there out on the street

I can see the air I can see the heat

Liked these guys for a bit too, saw them live a couple times. Not sure if they're still around.

I liked the specials growing up, can't remember if they're exactly Ska though.

The Pendulum -

They’re basically the definitive second wave ska band. Ska bands from their generation are usually known as 2 Tone after the Specials record label.

What like no doubt?

Jk

Still enjoy it, don't listen as often as I used to.

I still have Less Than Jake and Catch 22 on my playlist.

Lol..when i was super into ska i used to troll AOL ska chatrooms saying that No Doubt and Reel Big Fish were the best ska bands out there

People would get angry about ska becoming mainstream, hearing ska music on tv, etc...

It was similar to trolling the UG about MMA....

Still listen to Less than Jake, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Suicide Machines, the  Hippos and several others. Love me some ska.

I still put on The Arrogant Sons of Bitches now and then

Great song. The heat makes most people stay off the street or leave town at this time of year here in Phoenix, I sometimes play this while driving around Phoenix:

Sacrilege posting The Specials playing Skinhead Moonstomp. Where the fuck are Symarip at eh? Blue Beat & Doctor Bird 45s are something I’m actively getting more of right now, some great stuff in the early days

Mad Caddies all day son!

Ska sucks. Ska revival isn’t cool, you stupid fucks. The bands are only in it for the bucks, and if you don’t believe me you’re a schmuck. But the trend will die out with any luck.
