Im always excited to watch Fedor fight, but Im sad to see him go. He's looked more focused in his last two fights and I was hoping for a comeback...

He obv isnt the best HW atm, hasnt for a little while, but NO ONE can make an argument he isnt HW GOAT.

Fedor's a symbol, a legend, and one of a kind. I think it's a shame how his career ended up after Pride, and because of his greatness as a fighter I think the discussion about who's to blame should be confined to a separate argument. There are so many guys I'd love to have seen and still see Fedor fight... pretty much any fighter because he was that much fun to watch. Will be missed whenever he does retire

He was talking about retiring before the Werdum fight... He clearly wasn't taking things as serious there for a few fights.
I was hoping the fact that he has looked better in his last two, mixing it up with leg kicks, being patient and not wildly swinging looking for a KO, etc. was a sign that he found new focus and was going to make a comeback.
Maybe he thinks/knows he won't ever fight in the UFC and doesn't want to keep fighting lesser fighters. He said in a recent interview that he knows the best are in the UFC, so it's not like he's delusional and thinks Ishi, Monson, and Rizzo are top competition....
I think his intense focus on his faith/religion has had a big impact on his fighting career and training.
