I have no knowledge of this subject but I can’t imagine a natural hatch of eggs in that body of water would have better success than 95%. 

When they have road access they shoot them out of a fire hose from a water truck.

 

It still gives them a higher survival rate due to the lack of predation.

 

As God is my witness, I thought fish could fly.

depends on the type of fish.  esox are super fragile, bass can practically live in a plastic bag for 15 minutes

Usually trout are really fragile, but I guess the smelt don’t drop that fast.  Still, I’m surprised that 95% survive the drop.
