Why can't somebody come up with plans/schematics for a cage? Why spend $5000 plus some ridiculous shipping cost when you could build it yourself for less than 1/5 of the price they're charging you?

Would your ring designer be able to put together cage plans?
I just see no reason why people should have to fork over mad cash for something that's could be easily assembled with the right list of parts and directions at a much lower cost.

You guys would be lucky to get a cage for even 6500, trust me, I worked on getting one put together for over 3 months with several contractors and fence guys and trying to cut costs with steel, etc. It couldnt be done. If you can do fencing and welding yourself, you might save some yourself. But either way, after padding, canvas, corner pads, steps, etc. etc. It will be still around 8000+ if you are working with the bare minimum.
If you want something solid, I ended up paying a little over 9000, now you also have to consider the ease in its design, how easy it goes together if you are doing show. A good design means alot. Chad Wagner has a good design on his as well as the place I went through, a fabrication company in Ohio. No easy task, trust me. I tried to save alot of money when I started and ended up spending more in the long run. I plan to start renting mine out in addition to doing shows in Indiana to recover the costs.
